10.40.020 Moving traction engines on pavement prohibited – Exception.

No person, firm or corporation shall move any traction engine upon, over or across any paved street in the city, except as it may be necessary to cross a paved street or streets at street intersections in order to reach the destination, unless all lugs, spikes and flanges shall be first removed from the wheels of said traction engine, or the pavement over which said traction engine is to pass be first covered with sufficient planks to protect the same from damage by said engine. 10.40.030 Moving traction engines – Liability for damages.

Any person, firm or corporation who shall move any traction engine over, upon or through any street or streets of the city shall be liable to the city for any and all damages caused thereby to the street or pavements thereon and shall pay the cost of repair for any such damages to such street or streets, curbs, sidewalks or pavements over which such traction engine shall be moved.
