SPEED LIMITS

10.08.010 Limits designated.

A. The speed limit on all streets within the town limits is hereby established at twenty-five (25) miles per hour unless otherwise posted by the town or the State of Washington Highway Commission.

B. The speed limit on the following is hereby established to be twenty (20) miles per hour:

1. Primary State Highway 20 from the Chewuch Bridge (MP 192.83) to the Spring Creek Bridge (MP 193.16).

C. The speed limit on the following is hereby established to be twenty-five (25) miles per hour:

1. Primary State Highway 20 between Rader Road and the Chewuch Bridge.

2. Primary State Highway 20 between Spring Creek Bridge (MP 193.16) extending east to MP 194.04.

D. The speed limit on the following is hereby established at thirty-five (35) miles per hour:

1. Primary State Highway 20 between the west town limits and Rader Road.

2. Primary State Highway 20 between MP 194.04 east to the town limits (MP 194.34). (Ord. 757 § 2, 2022; Ord. 609 § 1, 2008: Ord. 321 § 1, 1986)

10.08.020 Applicability of Section 10.08.010.

The maximum speed allowed and set forth in Section 10.08.010 shall be effective at all times from and after the effective date of the ordinance codified in this section, and shall be applicable to all types of vehicles. (Ord. 321 § 2, 1986)

10.08.030 Responsibility for posting and enforcement of signs.

The town superintendent shall be responsible for the posting of appropriate street signs consistent with this chapter. The town marshal is charged with the responsibility of enforcing compliance with the foregoing speed restrictions. (Ord. 757 § 3, 2022; Ord. 609 § 2, 2008: Ord. 321 § 3, 1986)
