5.04.010 Registration--Required.

Any person who engages in the purchase or transportation of scrap metal or junk within Amador County, shall, in each year that such activity is to be conducted and before conducting such activity, register with the sheriff of the county, and shall obtain, and shall keep in his possession at all times that he is engaged in such activity, a written certificate from the sheriff to the effect that such registration has been effected.  (Ord. 267 §1, 1952).

5.04.020 Registration--Contents.

Such registration shall consist of a statement in writing, upon a form to be provided by the sheriff, signed by such person who intends to engage in such activity, which shall contain:

A.    The name and address of such person, and the name and address of the concern that he represents, if any;

B.    The owner, make, model, engine number and license number of the vehicle or vehicles to be operated by such person in the conduct of such activities;

C.    The part or parts of Amador County wherein such person expects to make all or the major portion of his purchases of scrap metal or junk.  (Ord. 267 §2, 1952).

5.04.030 Bill of sale.

Any person who engages in the transportation of junk or scrap metal shall, as to all junk or scrap metal purchased or received after the effective date of the ordinance codified in this chapter, obtain from each person from whom he purchased or received after the effective date of the ordinance codified in this chapter, obtained from each person from whom he purchases or receives such scrap metal or junk, a written bill of sale containing the amount, kind and general description of the junk or scrap metal purchased or received, and shall have such bill of sale in his possession at all times while engaged in the transportation of such items that are described therein.  (Ord. 267 §3, 1952).

5.04.040 Display of certificate, bill of sale to law enforcement officer.

The certificate of registration and the bill of sale referred to in Section 5.04.030 shall be exhibited upon demand to any law enforcement officer.  (Ord. 267 §4, 1952).

5.04.050 Violation--Misdemeanor.

Any violation of any of the provisions of this chapter is a misdemeanor and shall be punished in the manner prescribed by law.  (Ord. 267 §5, 1952).
