21.90.100 Initiation of consideration.

(1) Scheduled Review. Approximately annually, the planning commission shall schedule, give notice of and conduct a review of the general plan for the purpose of initiating consideration of any appropriate revisions. Requests and suggestions for revision of the plan received since the previous annual review shall be considered together with any recommendations of the director of community development.

(2) Special Requests. Either the city council or the planning commission, acting upon their own initiative or upon a request, may initiate consideration of a revision of the general plan at any time. (Ord. 770 § 1 (part), 1996; Ord. 346 § 1 (part), 1972)

21.90.200 Preparation.

When consideration of a revision of the general plan has been initiated, the director of community development shall prepare or cause to be prepared a proposed revision or more than one alternative revision for consideration. (Ord. 770 § 1 (part), 1996; Ord. 346 § 1 (part), 1972)

21.90.300 Citizen participation.

After consultation with the city council and/or planning commission, the director of community development and/or the planning commission may schedule public study sessions with interested citizens concerning possible revisions of the general plan. 21.90.310 Study sessions.

The city council may establish general plan review committees. (Ord. 346 § 1 (part), 1972)

21.90.320 Newspaper notice.

Newspaper notice shall be provided for all public study sessions. (Ord. 346 § 1 (part), 1972)

21.90.400 State law procedure.

The formal procedure for adoption and amendment of the general plan shall be in accordance with the state planning and zoning law. (Ord. 346 § 1 (part), 1972)
