2.1.01 Meetings: Time.

The Council shall meet three (3) times each month in regular session. Such meetings shall be held on the first, second, and third Mondays of each month at 6:00 p.m., unless such Monday shall be a legal holiday, in which event such meeting shall be held on the next business day at 6:00 p.m. (§ 1, Ord. 273, as amended by § 1, Ord. 77-53, eff. 2.1.02 Meetings: Place.

All meetings of the Council shall be held in the building known as the City Council Chamber, Clovis Civic Center, and situated at 1033 Fifth Street, Clovis, California, which building is hereby designated as the regular meeting place of the Council. 2.1.30 Authority for Council members’ salaries.

The provisions of Sections 2.1.30 through 2.1.32 of this chapter are enacted pursuant to the provisions of Section 36516 of the Government Code of the State authorizing the Council to provide by ordinance that each member of the Council shall receive a prescribed salary, the amount of which is based upon the population of the City as determined by estimates made by the Department of Finance of the State. 2.1.31 Population estimate.

2.1.32 Salaries of Councilmembers.

Each member of the Council, until the date on which one or more members of the Council begins a new term of office, shall continue to receive the current salary of one thousand four hundred fifty-five and no/100ths dollars ($1,455.00) per month.

From and after the date on which one or more members of the Council begins a new term of office, each member of the Council shall receive as salary, the sum of one thousand five hundred thirteen and no/100ths dollars ($1,513.00) per month. 2.1.33 Reimbursement.*

The salaries prescribed in this chapter are and shall be exclusive of any amounts payable to each member of the Council as reimbursements for the actual and necessary expenses incurred by him in the performance of official duties for the City. 2.1.34 Authority to waiver or reduce fees.

The City Council may, as it deems appropriate and as approved at a regular or special meeting of the Council, waive or reduce any fee provided in this Code or as adopted by resolution pursuant to the provisions of this Code. (§ 1, Ord. 95-20, eff. August 16, 1995)

2.1.35 Authority to enter into annexation agreements.

The City Council may, as it deems appropriate and as approved at a regular or special meeting of the Council, enter into an annexation agreement with any person whereby the provisions of Chapters 6.4, 6.5, and 6.6 and Division 2 of Title 9 relating to sewer connection, water connection, septic systems, private water wells, and the time period for the removal of nonconforming farm animals are waived. Annexation agreement shall mean an agreement between the City and the owner(s) of property outside City limits whereby a property owner agrees not to object to or otherwise oppose the City’s annexation of the property owner’s property. If such an annexation agreement is made, the provisions of the annexation agreement shall apply over conflicting provisions in Chapters 6.4, 6.5 and 6.6 and Division 2 of Title 9, if any.
