12.30.010 Purpose.

The purpose of this section is to establish the placement of signs and displays upon certain real property owned by the city of Fortuna. (Ord. 2007-666 § 1).

12.30.020 Definition.

For the purpose of this chapter only, the following definition shall apply:

A. “Fortuna Boulevard median” shall mean that strip of land between the travel lanes of Fortuna Boulevard which are bound by Rohnerville Road at     the north and Kenmar Road at the south. (Ord. 2007-666 § 2).

12.30.030 Regulations.

A. Consistent with the city of Fortuna’s authority to enact time, place, and manner regulations for signs and displays on city-owned land, the following regulations shall apply.

B. Fortuna Boulevard Median. The following rules shall govern the use of the Fortuna Boulevard median for signs and displays:

1. It may only be used by the Fortuna Volunteer Fire Department (FVFD – Ladies Auxiliary) for signs and displays of community-wide interest.

2. It may only be used from the first weekend after Thanksgiving to the first weekend after New Year’s Day of each year.

3. No animation, flashing, revolving, moving or illumination is permitted.

4. Any displays or signs to be erected must first receive an encroachment permit.

5. The Fortuna Volunteer Fire Department (FVFD – Ladies Auxiliary) must first provide proof of liability insurance and a hold harmless agreement, both acceptable to the city.

6. No sign or display shall be located so as to create a safety hazard by obstructing vision, or shall interfere with or resemble any authorized warning sign or signal. (Ord. 2018-731 § 2; Ord. 2007-666 § 3).
