SETBACK LINES:

11-2.1 Established:

There are hereby established the following setback lines:

a. Long Beach Boulevard: Building setback lines along Long Beach Boulevard within the city are hereby established as those lines marked “proposed right-of-way” on that certain map entitled “alignment study, Long Beach Boulevard” which is attached as exhibit A to the ordinance codified herein. At least three (3) copies of the map shall be kept on file at all times with the city clerk.

b. Abbott Road: There is hereby established a building setback line of seventy feet (70') from the centerline of Abbott Road on both sides of Abbott Road in the city from its point of intersection with Century Boulevard to the easterly boundary of the city.

c. Wright Road: There is hereby established a building setback line of ten feet (10') on the easterly side of Wright Road between a line one hundred fifty two feet (152') southerly of and parallel to the produced southerly line of lot 2 of Slausson tract, as per map recorded in book 3, page 348 of miscellaneous records in the office of the county recorder of the county and a line measured at right angles to the easterly line of Wright Road, distant thereon seven hundred ninety three feet (793') northerly from the southerly line of lot 4 of the Downey and Hellman tract, as per map recorded in book 3, page 31 of miscellaneous records in the office of the county recorder.

d. The First Alley Easterly Of Santa Fe Avenue: There is hereby established a building setback line of fifteen feet (15') on the westerly side of the first alley easterly of Santa Fe Avenue, extending from the southerly line of lot 4, block 14, Belle Vernon Acres, as shown on the map recorded in book 9, page 196 of maps and records of the county, to the northerly line of lot 1, block 14 of the last mentioned tract.

e. Harris Avenue: There is hereby established a building setback line of fifteen feet (15') on the west side of Harris Avenue, from the first alley south of Carlin Avenue to Olanda Street.

f. Santa Fe Avenue: Building setback lines along Santa Fe Avenue between 110th and Weber Streets within the city are hereby established as those lines marked “Proposed right-of-way” on that certain map entitled “Santa Fe extension project” which is attached as exhibit A to the ordinance codified herein. At least three (3) copies of the map shall be kept on file at all times with the city clerk. (Code 1972 §8-7; Ord. #907, §1; Ord. #911, §1)

11-2.2 Observance Of Setback Lines Required:

a. No building or structure shall be erected, placed or maintained between the street lines and the setback lines established in this section.

b. The building official shall not issue any building permit to construct any building or structure between the lines specified in this section.

c. The word “structure”, as used in this section, shall mean and include any post, sign, fence, box, machine, device or other obstruction. (Code 1972 §8-8)
