MECHANICAL CODE

11-10.1 Mechanical Code Adopted:

Except as provided herein, the 2019 Edition of the California Mechanical Code, as promulgated and published by the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials, including any California amendments and adopted appendices thereof, is hereby adopted by reference as though fully set forth herein, and shall constitute and is hereby established as “The Mechanical Code of the City of Lynwood” (“mechanical code” herein). A copy of the 2019 Edition of the California Mechanical Code has been deposited in the office of the city clerk and shall at all times be maintained by the city clerk for use and examination by the public. 11-10.2 Permit Fees:

a.    Before any permit required by this section is issued, the applicant must pay to the community development department a fee in an amount established by resolution of the city council.

b.    If any person has obtained a permit or paid a plan checking fee, and no portion of the work or construction covered by that permit has commenced, or that permit has been canceled without any work being done, the permittee, upon presentation to the building official of a written request, will be entitled to a refund. All refunds are subject to prior approval by the city manager. (Ord. #1427, §5)

11-10.3 Appeals:

The board of appeals, as established by subsection 11-1.2, shall also function as the appeals board for the purpose of hearing and deciding appeals of orders, decisions, or determinations made by the building official relative to the application and interpretations of the mechanical code. The authority and procedures of the board of appeals in matters relating to the mechanical code shall be as set forth in subsection 11-1.2. (Ord. #1427, §5)

11-10.4 Violations And Penalties:

Any person violating any of the provisions of the mechanical code shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and each such person shall be deemed guilty of a separate offense for each and every day, or portion thereof, during which any violation of any provision of the mechanical code is committed, continued or permitted. Upon conviction, any such violation shall be punishable as provided for in chapter 1 of this code. (Code 1972 §17A-4; Ord. #1250, §1; Ord. #1427, §5; #1601, §4)
