7.08.010 Removal required.

All weeds growing upon the streets or sidewalks or upon private property within the city which bear seeds of a wingy or downy nature or attain such a large growth as to become a fire menace when dry or which are otherwise noxious or dangerous, shall be removed and destroyed. (Prior code § 13.8).

7.08.020 State law adopted.

For the purposes of this chapter, the provisions of that certain act of the legislature of the state entitled "An Act Authorizing Municipalities to Declare Noxious or Dangerous Weeds Growing upon the Streets or Sidewalks, or upon Private Property Within Municipalities, to Be a Public Nuisance, Creating a Lien upon the Property Fronting on Said Streets or Sidewalks or upon Which Such Nuisance Exists for the Cost of Abating the Same," approved May 26, 1915, (Stats. 1915, p. 841), and all amendments thereto, are referred to and made a part of this chapter with the same force and effect as though set forth at length in this section. The rights and duties under such act devolving upon the street superintendent and his assistants and deputies, shall be had and performed by such person as may be designated and authorized to act hereunder by the Council of the city.
