3.28.010 Unclaimed bicycles and toys.

All bicycles and toys in the possession of the police department that are unclaimed for a period of at least sixty (60) days may, instead of being sold at a public auction to the highest bidder pursuant to Civil Code Section 2080.5, be distributed to the probation office, to the welfare office of the county of Riverside, or to any charitable or nonprofit organization which is authorized under its articles of incorporation to participate in a program or activity designed to prevent juvenile delinquency and which is exempt from income taxation under federal or state law, or both, for use in any program or activity designed to prevent juvenile delinquency. 3.28.020 Administration.

The chief of police shall direct that any and all bicycles and/or toys which qualify under Section 3.28.010 shall be distributed to an authorized organization or office. (Ord. 1061 § 1 (part), 1999: prior code § 3.36.020)

3.28.030 Records.

The identification technician of the police department shall maintain a record of all bicycles and/or toys distributed pursuant to this chapter, including the date and organization to which said property was distributed. (Ord. 1061 § 1 (part), 1999: prior code § 3.36.030)
