REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY1

2.56.010 Agency established.

A. The city council hereby finds and declares that there is a need for a community redevelopment agency to function in the city pursuant to the provisions of the CRL and Part I, Division 24 of the California Health and Safety Code.

B. The city council declares the official name of the community redevelopment agency to be the Solana Beach redevelopment agency.

C. The city council hereby declares itself to be said agency and shall be vested with all the rights, powers, duties, privileges, and immunities vested by the CRL in the agency, pursuant to Section 33200 of the California Health and Safety Code. The mayor shall serve as the chairperson of the agency.

D. The city council hereby finds that designating the city council as the redevelopment agency will serve the public interest and promote the public safety and welfare in an effective and efficient manner.

E. The city council finds that there has been full public disclosure of all reports and proposals relating to the city council’s intent to declare itself a community redevelopment agency.

F. The city council directs the city clerk of the city of Solana Beach to file a certified copy of the ordinance codified in this chapter with the Office of the Secretary of State for the state of California, pursuant to Section 33102 of the CRL. (Ord. 318 §§ 1 – 6, 2003)
