MOSQUITO ABATEMENT

8.16.010 Possible breeding places unlawful.

It is unlawful for any property owner or lessee to maintain any place where mosquitoes might or could breed on their premises or to suffer any pools of water or vessels containing water, under their control, which might afford a breeding place for mosquitoes, to remain on their premises. (Prior code § 6-5.01)

8.16.020 Oil on stagnant water.

In all cases where property owners are unable to drain the water from their premises on account of earth depressions or other reasons and water accumulates and becomes stagnant, the property owner or lessee must apply oil which has been approved by the board of health to the surface of such water once each week in the amount prescribed by the board of health. (Prior code § 6-5.02)

8.16.030 Nuisance.

Any place where stagnant water is allowed to accumulate within the city is declared to be a public nuisance, and shall be abated in accordance with Title 19 of this code. (Ord. 2010-01 § 4: prior code § 6-5.03)

8.16.040 Abatement by the city.

Repealed by Ord. 2010-01. (Prior code § 6-5.04)
