BUILDING COMMISSIONER’S CODE BOOK REVOLVING FUND

3.15.010 Establishment.

There is hereby established a revolving fund to be known as the Building Commissioner’s Code Book Revolving Fund. [Ord. G-81-53, passed 12-14-81. 1962 Code, Art. 3, Ch. 20, § 1; 1982 Code § 30.310; 1983 Code § 3.30.310.]

3.15.020 Purpose.

(A) The Building Commissioner of the City and Vanderburgh County is hereby authorized to purchase copies of the Indiana Building Code and the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association, Inc., Standards for resale to contractors, engineers, and to the general public, subject to appropriation of monies to this fund for that purpose by the Council.

(B) The Building Commissioner is further authorized to sell Indiana Building Code Books and SMACNA Standards to persons wishing to buy them at a price to be established by the Building Commissioner, which may reflect the cost to the Building Commissioner of the code books plus a charge for handling the sale of the code books.

(C) All revenues resulting from the sale of Indiana Building Code books and SMACNA Standards by the Building Commissioner shall be deposited in the Building Commissioner’s Code Book Revolving Fund. Deposits shall be made pursuant to IC 5-12-1-1 through 5-12-1-40 (Indiana Depository Act).

(D) Expenditures from the Building Commissioner’s Code Book Revolving Fund shall be solely for the purpose of purchasing further copies of the Indiana Building Code for resale. [Ord. G-81-53, passed 12-14-81. 1962 Code, Art. 3, Ch. 20, § 2; 1982 Code § 30.311; 1983 Code § 3.30.311.]

3.15.030 Continuing fund.

(A) If $1,000 or less is remaining in the Building Commissioner’s Code Book Revolving Fund at the end of each year, that amount shall remain in the fund, and shall not revert to any General Fund.

(B) Any amount remaining in the Building Commissioner’s Code Book Revolving Fund at the end of each year in excess of $1,000 shall revert to the General Fund of the City. [Ord. G-81-53, passed 12-14-81. 1962 Code, Art. 3, Ch. 20, § 3; 1982 Code § 30.312; 1983 Code § 3.30.312.]
