2.35.010 Oath of office and qualification for office.

All persons duly elected or appointed to a City office under the provisions of this title shall qualify for the same by taking and subscribing to the following oath before the City Clerk: “I do solemnly swear (or affirm, as the case may be) that I will support the constitution of the United States and the constitution of the State of Kansas and faithfully discharge the duties of ____________. So help me God.” (K.S.A. 1968 Supp. 75-4308; 54-106) (Ord. 477 § 1. Code 1990 § 1-501)

2.35.020 Bonds of City officers.

Before entering upon the duties of their respective offices, the following officers shall execute and deliver to the City Council, for its approval, good and sufficient surety bonds in the minimum amounts as hereinafter provided, conditioned upon the faithful and efficient performance of duty in their respective offices:

A. City Clerk    $20,000.00

1. Blanket Bond    5,000.00

B. City Treasurer    10,000.00

C. All other officers and employees

(Blanket Bond)    5,000.00

D. All officers and employees

2.35.030 Premium paid by City.

Any annual premium on such surety bonds shall be paid by the City from the general fund in the same manner as other bills against the City. (R.O. 1926, No. 24. Code 1990 § 1-503)
