18.10.010 Business and trade areas – Zone one.

The following described property located within the boundaries of said Village of Cimarron is most suitable for and is now principally used for business and trade purposes and the same is hereby declared and zoned as business zone one.

Beginning at the south boundary of the Village of Cimarron, New Mexico, and proceeding north along State Road No. 21 to a point where said state road junctions with Collinson Avenue at Nineteenth Street, the lands on each side of said highway to the depth of 120 feet; thence north along Collinson Avenue to the south bank of the Cimarron River, that the lands lying on each side of said avenue to a depth of 90 feet shall be for business use; thence north from the north bank of the Cimarron River and along Collinson Avenue to its junction with U.S. Highway 64, all lands lying adjacent to and along said avenue to a depth of 140 feet shall be for business use; thence from the west end of Tenth Street and proceeding east to Jefferson Avenue, the north half of all blocks shall be for business use only; thence proceeding from Jefferson Avenue east along the south boundary of U.S. Highway 64 to the junction with State Road 58, all lands facing said U.S. Highway 64 to a depth of 140 feet is hereby designated as business area; thence proceeding from the junction of State Road 58 with U.S. Highway 64 to the northeast boundary of the Village, all lands lying west of said U.S. Highway 64 to a depth of 100 feet and all lands lying east of said U.S. Highway 64 to a depth of 100 feet are hereby designated as business areas.

Also, beginning at the junction of Columbus Avenue and Highway 64 and proceeding to Jefferson Avenue along the south side of the U.S. Highway 64 right-of-way, all of the north half of the blocks thereon are business areas; beginning at the junction of Collinson Avenue and Twelfth Street and proceeding east to Euclid Avenue, all lots facing said street on both sides are business; beginning at the junction of Twelfth Street and Euclid Avenue and proceeding north to U.S. Highway 64, an area 50 feet deep on each side of said Euclid Avenue is business area; beginning at the west boundary of Columbus Avenue and proceeding east along Ninth Street to its junction with U.S. Highway 64, all lots on the south side of Ninth Street are business areas, except those used by the Cimarron Public School and now designated as Village Plaza; beginning on Ninth Street at its junction with Columbus Avenue and proceeding east to U.S. Highway 64, all lots along the north boundary of said Ninth Street are business areas, except those lots in Blocks 22, 23, 24, 28 and 29 and south half of Block 27 and all area lying east of Jefferson Avenue and south of U.S. Highway 64. 18.10.020 Industrial areas – Zone two.

The following described property located within the boundaries of said Village of Cimarron is most suitable for and is now used principally for industrial purposes and the same is hereby ordained to be an industrial area:

Beginning at the junction of Collinson Avenue and U.S. Highway 64 and proceeding north along the west side of Collinson Avenue to the north Village boundary, all lands lying west of Collinson Avenue are industrial, except the south side of Ninth Street and the east five lots in blocks numbered 11, 12 and 29; beginning at the junction of U.S. Highway 64 and Columbus Avenue and proceeding west to the west Village boundary, thence north to the northwest corner of Village boundary and corner stone No. 33, thence east to the junction of said boundary and Columbus Avenue and Maxwell Boulevard and corner stone No. 1, all industrial area; also, the area now occupied by the Capital Lumber Company and lying in the northeast corner of said Village, is declared to be an industrial area. 18.10.030 Recreational areas – Zone three.

The following described property within the boundaries of the Village of Cimarron is most suitable for and is now used and designated as and set aside for recreational purposes and the same is hereby zoned for recreational purposes only:

Beginning at the junction of Columbus Avenue and U.S. Highway 64 and proceeding west along the south side of highway right-of-way to the west Village boundary and thence proceeding along said west boundary, south to the north bank of the Cimarron River, thence proceeding east along the north bank of the Cimarron River to the west side of Columbus Avenue, thence along the west side of Columbus Avenue to its junction with U.S. Highway 64, said area now known as the Maverick Club Rodeo Grounds and the polo field or school recreational area, all are declared for recreational use exclusively; also, blocks numbered 84, 33 and certain lots located in the north half of block number 25, are exclusively for recreational purposes. 18.10.040 Residential area one – Zone four.

The following described property located within the boundaries of the Village of Cimarron is most suitable for and is now used exclusively for residential purposes and the residences located therein now contain at least 250 square feet of livable floor space and are of a present construction value or cost of at least $1,500 each. Said area is hereby ordained as exclusively residential and residences meeting the above requirements and suitable to said area may be constructed in said zone, and trade, business, industrial structures and uses are forbidden in said zone:

Beginning at the junction of Collinson Avenue and Eighteenth Street and proceeding along said Eighteenth Street west to Adams Avenue, all lots lying south of said Eighteenth Street are declared to be exclusively residential areas, also the south half (S 1/2) of Blocks 43, 44, 45, 46 are residential areas, except such of such blocks as have heretofore been designated as business areas; also, the west half of Blocks 65 and 48 and the south half of Blocks 63 and 64 and all land south and east of Blocks 64 and north of the Cimarron River to southeast Village boundary and Blocks 50, 51, and 52. 18.10.050 Residential area two – Zone five.

The following described property located within the Village of Cimarron is most suitable for residential purposes and is now used almost exclusively for such purposes and the residences located therein now contain at least 1,000 square feet of livable floor space or more and are of a present construction cost of at least $10,000 or more; said area is hereby ordained as exclusively residential and residences meeting the above-mentioned standards or better and suitable to the area in design, construction, and use, may be constructed in said zone and trade, business and industrial structures and uses are forbidden:

The east half (E 1/2) of Block 90, and all of blocks numbered 91, 92, 83, 104, 105; the east half (E 1/2) of Blocks 106 and 118 and all of blocks numbered 120 and 121; also, the area lying east of Collinson Avenue and north of Sixteenth Street and west of Euclid Avenue and bounded on the north by the south bank of the Cimarron River; also, all lands lying south of the south bank of the Cimarron River and bounded on the east by Collinson Avenue and on the south by Eighteenth Street and on the west by Adams Avenue; also, all of blocks numbered 10, 13, 1, 9, 14, 15, 8, 2, 3, 6, 5, 7 and 16 and the north half (N 1/2) of blocks numbered 22, 25, and 26. 18.10.060 Residential area three – Zone six.

The following described property located within the Village of Cimarron is most suitable for and is now used almost exclusively for residential purposes and the residences now located within said areas now contain at least 750 square feet of livable floor space and are of a present construction cost of at least $5,000 or more; said area is hereby ordained as exclusively residential and residences meeting the above minimum requirements and suitable to said area in design, construction, and use may be constructed in said area and business, trade, industrial structures and uses are forbidden:

Beginning at the junction of Collinson Avenue and Eighteenth Street, all lands lying east of Collinson Avenue and south of Eighteenth Street, south and east to the Village boundary; also, blocks numbered 17, 18 and 19 and the north half (N 1/2) of blocks numbered 22, 23, and 24; excepting therefrom the west 120 feet along State Road 21.
