13.40.010 Created.

The Pueblo rural fire protection district was created by the Humboldt County board of commissioners on April 15, 1964, by resolution pursuant to NRS Chapter 474, after voters in the proposed district approved the creation of the fire protection district and elected the initial three members of the board of directors of the district in a special election on April 10, 1964. On January 21, 2003, the Humboldt County board of commissioners by Resolution No. 01-21-03 increased the number of members on the board of directors of the district from three members to five members. 13.40.020 Boundaries.

The boundaries of the district are as follows:

All of Townships 43, 44, 45, 46, 47 North, Range 27 East, M.D.B.&M.;

All of Townships 43, 44, 45, 46, 47 North, Range 28 East, M.D.B.&M.;

All of Townships 42, 43, 44, 45, 46, 47 North, Range 30 East, M.D.B.&M.;

All of Townships 41, 42, 43, 44, 45, 46, 47 North, Range 31 East, M.D.B.&M.;

All of Townships 42, 43 North, Range 32 East, M.D.B.&M.

13.40.030 Directors—Appointment, terms and compensation.

A. Pursuant to NRS 244.1645, the Pueblo rural fire protection district shall be governed by a board of directors consisting of five members and the directors shall be appointed by the Humboldt County board of county commissioners instead of being elected by the voters within the boundaries of the district.

B. The appointment procedure shall be established by the board of county commissioners.

C. The term of appointment for each seat on the board of directors is as follows:

1. Seat A term of appointment shall continue until the first Monday in January 2025 and every four years thereafter.

2. Seat B term of appointment shall continue until the first Monday in January 2027 and every four years thereafter.

3. Seat C term of appointment shall continue until the first Monday in January 2025 and every four years thereafter.

4. Seat D term of appointment shall continue until the first Monday in January 2027 and every four years thereafter.

5. Seat E term of appointment shall continue until the first Monday in January 2025 and every four years thereafter.

D. Each appointed director may be reappointed to any number of additional terms.

E. If a vacancy occurs in a seat on the board of directors, the board of county commissioners shall fill the vacant seat by appointment for the remainder of the unexpired term.

F. Directors shall serve on the governing board of the district without compensation. (Ord. 11-06-23 § 1)
