REWARDS FOR CRIME INFORMATION

2.44.010 Reward for information.

Any person who communicates information to the city leading to the arrest and conviction of a person or persons for damaging any city property, equipment, signs or parks shall be given a reward, payable by the city, and in an amount to be determined by the city, but not to exceed $500.00. (Ord. 78-20 § 1)

2.44.020 Exception – Public officials.

No public official may claim this reward for the performance of a service which it was his duty to perform. (Ord. 78-20 § 2)

2.44.030 Apportionment among several persons.

When several persons’ efforts contribute to produce the information leading to the arrest and conviction, the reward will be apportioned among those contributing according to the value of their contribution as determined by the city council. (Ord. 78-20 § 3)

2.44.040 Amount of reward – Determination and approval.

The amount of the reward shall be determined and payment shall be approved by a motion of the city council. (Ord. 78-20 § 4)
