1. Species. The following species are highly sensitive to disturbance or habitat alteration and, therefore, are designated as “protected species.”

2. Habitat. The following are considered highly sensitive to alteration and are regionally rare:

Peat bogs
Mature forested wetlands
Riparian habitat with native fish populations or significant wildlife usage

Estuaries/mud flats/rocky shores
Garry oak remnants
Freshwater ponds
Freshwater marshes
