17.44.010 Procedure generally.

The procedure for installing improvements and establishing standards therefor shall be as follows in this chapter. (Ord. 191 § 7, 1967).

17.44.020 Streets and private lanes.

Streets and private lanes shall be constructed and surfaced in accordance with the city’s standard plans. (Ord. 191 § 7(a), 1967).

17.44.030 Drainage.

Street drainage and lot drainage shall be installed in accordance with Chapter 13.08 NPMC and the city’s standards. Where grading of lots or contouring of land within the plat alters the natural surface drainage thereof, the subdivider shall make provision for the discharge of said surface water into a natural watercourse or public drainage system. Where it is deemed necessary by the planning commission, it may require a hold harmless agreement from the subdivider in connection with such drainage. (Ord. 720 § 4, 2003; Ord. 191 § 7(b), 1967).

17.44.040 Water system.

The water distribution system shall be designed and installed in accordance with the city’s standards. Connection shall be provided for each lot. (Ord. 191 § 7(c), 1967).

17.44.050 Sewer system.

The subdivision shall be provided with a complete sanitary system provided that the plat or subdivision has reasonable access to sanitary sewer service. The sanitary system shall be designed and installed in accordance with city standards. If the plat or subdivision does not have reasonable access to sanitary sewer services, and if the city health officer has found the soil conditions satisfactory, septic tanks, or other methods of handling waste, as approved by the city health officer, may be installed. Where septic tanks are permitted, drainfields may not be installed closer than 100 feet to the line of ordinary high water. Such sewage disposal systems shall be installed under the supervision of the city health officer and the city engineer. (Ord. 191 § 7(d), 1967).

17.44.060 Monuments.

Permanent cased monuments and other markers shall be erected and located and each lot shall be staked in accordance with the plat or subdivision. (Ord. 191 § 7(e), 1967).
