17.56.010 Violation—Enforcement.

Violation of the provisions of this title, or failure to comply with any of its requirements, shall constitute a civil infraction, and upon conviction thereof, a civil penalty of not more than two hundred fifty dollars ($250.00) shall be assessed against the violator. Each day that a violation exists shall constitute a separate violation.

The city attorney, when authorized by the mayor and council, shall seek penalties, remedies, injunctions and other legal sanctions necessary for the enforcement of this title. In addition to costs, the prevailing party in an enforcement action may, at the court’s discretion, be allowed interest and reasonable attorney’s fees. The city attorney shall seek such costs, interest, and the reasonable attorney’s fees on behalf of the city when the city is a party. (Ord. 722 § 1(HHH), 2014: Ord. 97-550 § 14, 1997)
