6.32.010 Carrying or shooting bow and arrow by persons under 18 – Prohibited unless forward end blunted and covered.

It is unlawful for any person under age of 18 years to carry or shoot any bow and arrow in the city of Ritzville, unless the arrow has the forward end blunted and covered with rubber or some other suitable material or substance which will prevent injury to any person if struck by such arrow. (Ord. 435 § 1, 1955).

6.32.020 Exception for archery course or club – Regulations governing.

The provisions of RCC 6.32.010 shall not apply to licensed archery courses, archery courses conducted by any school or educational institution, nor to regularly enrolled members of clubs organized for the purpose of target shooting. (Ord. 1092 § 121, 2005; Ord. 435 § 2, 1955).

6.32.030 Carrying or shooting rifle, air pistol or BB gun by persons under 18 prohibited.

Repealed by Ord. 2063. (Ord. 435 § 3, 1955).

6.32.040 Parent or guardian may not knowingly permit child to carry or shoot bow and arrow or air gun.

It is unlawful for any parent or guardian of any child under the age of 18 years to knowingly permit such child to carry or shoot any bow or arrow or any air rifle, air pistol or BB gun contrary to the provisions of this chapter. (Ord. 435 § 4, 1955).

6.32.045 Carrying of rifles openly in a vehicle.

The jurisdiction of the city of Ritzville is and shall be exempt from the prohibitions set forth in RCW 9.41.050(4) as presently enacted and as may be hereafter modified or recodified. This exemption is enacted pursuant to RCW 9.41.050(6). (Ord. 896, 1994).

6.32.050 Violations – Penalties.

Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter, shall upon conviction thereof, be punished by a fine in any sum not exceeding $100.00 or by imprisonment in the city jail for a period not exceeding 30 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment. (Ord. 435 § 5, 1955).

6.32.060 Confiscation of bow and arrow or air gun upon conviction.

Whenever any person shall be convicted of violating any of the provisions of this chapter, the bow and arrow or air rifle, air pistol or BB gun so carried or discharged shall be confiscated by the court. (Ord. 435 § 6, 1955).
