2.12.010 District Court district established.

There is hereby established effective the second Monday in January, 1983, one District Court district in Skagit County, Washington. The boundaries of said district are to coincide with the boundaries of Skagit County, Washington. (Ord. 12782 (part), 1991)

2.12.020 Number of judges.

There shall be two District Court Judges elected in the one District Court district of Skagit County and they shall be designated as District Court Judge Position No. 1 and District Court Judge Position No. 2. (Ord. 12782 (part), 1991)

2.12.030 Name of the District Court.

The name of the District Court district coinciding with the boundaries of Skagit County shall be known as the Skagit County District Court District. (Ord. 12782 (part), 1991)

2.12.040 Location of District Court.

The location of the Skagit County District Court shall be in Public Safety Building, Mount Vernon, Washington. All city causes will be heard at the respective city halls. Provided, however, nothing in this section shall be construed to prevent court hearings and business to be transacted at other places in the County. (Ord. 12782 (part), 1991)

2.12.050 Number and location of District Court Commissioners.

There shall be one full-time District Court Commissioner and two part-time District Court Commissioners authorized. District Court Commissioners shall serve at the pleasure of the elected District Court Judges and shall perform such duties and at such places as the elected District Court Judges shall from time to time designate. 2.12.060 Departments of the Skagit County District Court district.

There shall be two departments in the Skagit County District Court district, each with identical authority and jurisdiction. (Ord. 12782 (part), 1991)

2.12.070 Reimbursement.

All cities and towns utilizing a District Court Judge or Court Commissioner shall reimburse Skagit County for all expenses incurred while the District Court Judge or Court Commissioner is acting in the capacity of municipal court judge. (Ord. 12782 (part), 1991)

2.12.080 Clerks and staff.

Skagit County shall employ clerks and other staff in sufficient number to effectively administer the Skagit County District Court. The judges shall be responsible for determining allocation of staff and other resources established in this chapter. (Ord. 12782 (part), 1991)

2.12.090 Severability.

If any section, subsection or other portion of this chapter is for any reason held invalid or unconstitutional by any court of competent jurisdiction, such section or portion shall be deemed a separate provision of this chapter and such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portion of this chapter. (Ord. 12782 (part), 1991)

2.12.100 Prior ordinances—Repealed.

All resolutions and/or ordinances or parts of resolutions and/or ordinances inconsistent or in conflict therewith are hereby repealed. (Ord. 12782 (part), 1991)
