2.04.010 Regular meetings.

The city council shall hold regular meetings on the first and third Tuesdays of each month in the council chambers in the City Hall beginning at 7:00 p.m.

The commencement time of a regular city council meeting may be changed by the mayor or majority vote of the city council provided notice is given in the same manner as provided in RCW 42.30.080 for special meetings.

Adjournments or continuances of regular meetings may be accomplished as provided for in RCW 42.30.090 and 42.30.100 as now in effect or hereinafter amended.

2.04.020 Special meetings.

Special meetings may be called by the mayor or by a majority of the members of the city council by delivering written notice personally, by mail, by fax, or by electronic mail to each member of the council, and to the mayor if called by members of the council, at least twenty-four hours before the time of such meeting as specified in the notice in the manner provided in RCW 42.30.080. The notice shall specify the time and place of the special meeting and the business to be transacted. Final disposition shall not be taken on any other matter at such meeting by the city council. Such written notice may be dispensed with as to any member who at or prior to the time the meeting convenes files with the city clerk a written waiver of notice. Such written notice may also be dispensed with as to any member who is actually present at the meeting at the time it convenes. The notices provided in this section may be dispensed with in the event a special meeting is called to deal with an emergency involving injury or damage to persons or property or the likelihood of such injury or damage, when time requirements of such notice would make notice impractical and increase the likelihood of such injury or damage.

2.04.030 Holidays.

When the day fixed for any regular meeting of the council falls upon the day designated by law as a legal or national holiday, such meeting shall be held at the same hour and place on the next succeeding day not a holiday.

2.04.040 Compensation of council.

A.    Commencing with the calendar year 2016, each councilmember shall receive $734.00 per month reimbursement. For subsequent years, the following monthly salary is established:















B.    Commencing with calendar year 2024, each councilmember shall receive $900.00 per month reimbursement. For each calendar year subsequent to 2024 the monthly salary shall be an amount which results from adding the sum of $25.00 to the monthly salary applicable to the prior calendar year.

C.    Council compensation shall be so determined and paid by the city without further action by the city council.
