TOURIST PROMOTION FUND

3.94.010 Fund created—Source of revenue.

There is created a special fund to be known as the tourist promotion fund. There shall be deposited into such fund money of the 162 trolley operating fund remaining therein on the effective date of this chapter; all interest on investments of the tourist promotion fund; all revenues generated by the operation of the trolleys; all revenues generated by the operation of the Yakima Center; and such other revenues as the city council may from time to time designate. (Ord. 2247 § 1 (part), 1978).

3.94.020 Purposes.

Expenditures from such fund shall be made only for purposes of tourist promotion including, but not limited to, the operation of the trolley system, the operation of Yakima Center, and payments governed by agreements with the Visitors and Convention Bureau. (Ord. 2390 § 1, 1980: Ord. 2247 § 1 (part), 1978).

3.94.030 Expenditures.

Expenditures from the tourist promotion fund shall be made only for the purposes specified in Section 3.94.020 of this chapter. No expenditures shall be made from such fund unless the Yakima city council approves such expenditure by passing an ordinance appropriating money within such fund for the purpose for which the expenditure is to be made, or by including an appropriation for such purposes in the budget. 3.94.040 Assumption of trolley operating fund assets and liabilities.

The tourist promotion fund shall assume the accounts receivable and liabilities of the 162 trolley operating fund existing on the effective date of this chapter. (Ord. 2247 § 1 (part), 1978).
