8.20.010 Children Loitering.

It is unlawful for any minor under the age of seventeen years to loiter upon the public streets, highways, sidewalks, alleys, parks, playgrounds, public buildings, public places, places of amusement and entertainment, vacant lots or other unsupervised places between the hours of ten p.m. and seven a.m., on the following day, official time, during the months of May to October, inclusive, and between the hours of nine p.m. and seven a.m., on the following day, official time, during the months of November to April, inclusive; provided, however, that the provisions of this section do not apply to a minor accompanied by his or her parent, guardian or other adult person having the authorized care and custody of the minor, or where the minor is upon an emergency errand or legitimate business directed by his or her parent, guardian or other adult person having the authorized care and custody of the minor.

Each violation of the provisions of this section shall constitute a separate offense.

8.20.020 Responsibility of Parents.

It is unlawful for the parent, guardian or other adult person having the care and custody of a minor under the age of seventeen years to knowingly permit such minor to loiter in or upon the public streets, sidewalks, highways, alleys, parks, playgrounds, or other public grounds, public places and public buildings, places of amusement and entertainment, vacant lots or other unsupervised places, between the hours of ten p.m., and seven a.m., of the following day, official time, during the months of May to October, both months inclusive, and between the hours of nine p.m., and seven a.m., of the following day, official time, during the months of November to April, inclusive; provided, however, that the provisions of this section do not apply when the minor is accompanied by his or her parent, guardian or other adult person having the authorized care and custody of the minor or when the minor is upon an emergency errand or legitimate business directed by his or her parent, guardian or other adult person having the authorized care and custody of the minor.

Each violation of the provisions of this section shall constitute a separate offense.
