EMERGENCY RESTRICTIONS ON COUNTY ROADS*

10.12.010 Findings.

The board of county commissioners is advised that during the months of January through May, when the ground is beginning to thaw, and for some time thereafter, the use of and the speed on certain county roads should be restricted to prevent serious damage or destruction of said roads.

10.12.020 County Engineer – Restriction Authority.

The county engineer shall be allowed to restrict the use of such roads, as necessitated by thawing periods, by imposing maximum speed limits of twenty-five miles per hour for all trucks, buses and loaded pickups.

10.12.030 County Engineer – Restriction Sign Posting.

The county engineer shall cause the restrictions authorized in Section 10.12.020 to be effected by erecting and maintaining signs at each end of the road to be restricted and at all intersecting state highways and county roads. The sign shall contain the restriction thereon which shall be legal notice thereof.

10.12.040 Penalty for Violation.

A violation of these restrictions or closures shall constitute a misdemeanor. Signs containing notice of the emergency closure or restriction thereon shall be legal notice thereof.
