3.155 Visit Manitowoc Board.
(1) Creation. There is hereby created a Visit Manitowoc Board for the City of Manitowoc, which shall serve as an advisory committee to the Room Tax Commission.
(2) Composition. The Visit Manitowoc Board shall consist of eight members, four of which shall be appointed by the Manitowoc Area Visitor and Convention Bureau, Inc., and four of which shall be appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the Common Council. All members of the Visit Manitowoc Board must represent the tourism industry, no member may be an elected official, and no member of the Manitowoc Area Visitor and Convention Bureau, Inc., Board of Directors that served in that capacity at any point between December 7, 2021, and June 25, 2024, may be appointed to the Visit Manitowoc Board by the Manitowoc Area Visitor and Convention Bureau, Inc.
(3) Terms. The members shall be appointed for two-year terms and may be reappointed.
(4) Powers and Duties. The Visit Manitowoc Board shall advise the Room Tax Commission on discretionary expenditures of room tax dollars, subject to the statutory requirements of Wis. Stat. § 66.0615. Visit Manitowoc Board members shall elect a chairperson, who shall be responsible for setting and conducting meetings as often as the Visit Manitowoc Board finds appropriate.
