2.28.010 Established.

There is created and established a planning commission. (Prior code § 2.125)

2.28.020 Composition.

The planning commission shall consist of five members. All commissioners shall be residents of the city at the time of their appointment and shall remain residents for their entire term. (Ord. 02-007 § 1, 2002: Ord. 98-001 § 1, 1998: prior code § 2.126)

2.28.030 Appointment of members.

The members of the planning commission shall be appointed by the mayor, with the approval of the city council. (Prior code § 2.127)

2.28.040 Regular meetings.

The planning commission shall hold regular meetings on the fourth Tuesday of each month. Such regular meeting may be adjourned from time to time. (Ord. 2018-002 § 1, 2018: Ord. 2012-004 § 1, 2012: Ord. 02-007 § 2, 2002: prior code § 2.128)

2.28.050 Special meetings.

The planning commission shall hold special meetings whenever it is deemed for the best interests of the city that special meetings be held. The special meetings shall be held upon the call of the chairman of the planning commission or upon the request of three members of the commission for a special meeting. (Prior code § 2.129)

2.28.060 Removal of members for absence from more than two consecutive regular meetings.

Any member of the planning commission who fails to attend more than two consecutive regular meetings of the planning commission shall be removed from the commission unless such member furnishes a satisfactory excuse for his absence to the chairman of the planning commission. (Prior code § 2.130)

2.28.070 Rights, duties, powers and compensation.

The rights, duties, powers and compensation of the members of the planning commission shall be as provided by the State Government Code, Section 6500 et seq. (Prior code § 2.131)
