7.38.010 Intent and purpose.

It is the intent of the city council in enacting SBMC 7.38.020 to adopt a limited prohibition against targeted picketing which shall be construed and applied in accordance with the interpretation given to a similar ordinance by the United States Supreme Court in Frisby v. Schultz, 487 U.S. 474 (1988). SBMC 7.38.020 shall only prohibit picketing focused on and taking place before or about a particular residence. The limited purpose of the prohibition is to preclude intrusion upon the constitutionally protected privacy rights of inhabitants of the targeted residence. (Ord. 175 § 1, 1993)

7.38.020 Picketing of private residence prohibited.

It is a misdemeanor for any person to engage in picketing before or about the residence or dwelling of any individual in the city of Solana Beach. (Ord. 175 § 1, 1993)
