2.20.010 Elected officials.

(1) Mayor. The mayor of the city of Entiat shall receive a salary for his/her duties as mayor. The salary shall be set annually in the salary ordinance.

(2) Council Members. The council members of the city of Entiat each shall receive a stipend for each council meeting attended. If an absence from a council meeting is due to attendance at another meeting as representative of the city of Entiat, the council member shall receive the stipend for such meeting. The amount of this stipend shall be set annually in the salary ordinance, with a maximum of two meetings per month, including work sessions. Any increase in the rate of stipend for council members over previous rates shall be effective only for new council members, or after a council member is duly elected to a new term, following such change in rate. 2.20.020 Retainers for professional officials.

(1) City Attorney. The attorney for the city of Entiat shall be paid an hourly rate, negotiated, and as set forth by contract. Additional legal services for special litigation, if required, shall be negotiated and set forth in a separate contract.

(2) City Engineer. The engineer of the city of Entiat shall be paid a retainer for consultation and as primary resource for the engineering needs of the city. Additional engineering services for major capital projects, if undertaken, shall be paid at a fee based on the total project and negotiated prior to project commencement. The rate for the monthly retainer for the city engineer shall be set forth by contract.

(3) City Planner. The city planner for the city of Entiat shall provide consultant planning services to the city as needed. Payment for such services, including retainer, shall be negotiated and set forth by contract.

(4) Building Inspector. The building inspector for the city of Entiat shall provide building inspection services to the city including site inspections and issuing of building permits relating to all adopted building codes of the city. Payment for such services shall be negotiated and set forth by contract.

(5) Hearing Examiner. The hearing examiner of the city of Entiat shall provide services to determine the validity of conditional uses and variances to the city’s zoning code and comprehensive plan. 2.20.030 Rates of pay for other appointed city officials and city employees.

Appointed officials, not named in EMC 2.20.010 and 2.20.020, and employees of the city of Entiat shall be paid based on employment of 40 hours per week normal schedule and shall receive a monthly salary. Such appointive officials and employees who normally work less than 40 hours per week or who are seasonal employees shall be compensated at an hourly rate.
