13.28.010 Materials generally.

Types of pipe acceptable for standard sewer installations are as listed in this chapter. (Ord. 699 § 7.01, 1972)

13.28.020 Asbestos cement sewer pipe.

All asbestos cement pipe shall conform to ASTM Specifications C428, latest revision. Class shall be 1500 or 2400. (Ord. 699 § 7.02, 1972)

13.28.030 Vitrified clay pipe.

Vitrified clay pipe shall comply with ASTM C278 extra strength unglazed pipe or ASTM C594, latest revision, and the joints shall conform with ASTM C425, latest revision, and the trade name “Speed-Seal” or “Flex Lox.” (Ord. 699 § 7.03, 1972)

13.28.040 Concrete pipe.

Concrete sewer pipe will not be allowed due to the high ground water table. (Ord. 699 § 7.04, 1972)

13.28.045 PVC, SDR-35 pipe.

The use of PVC, SDR-35 pipe is authorized in relation to the construction and installation of side sewer hookups. (Ord. 834 § 1, 1982)

13.28.050 Side sewer pipe on private property.

All sewer pipe installed on private property with the distance from the ground surface to the top of the pipe barrel greater than six feet shall conform to Section 13.28.020. Where said distance is less than six feet, the pipe shall conform with Section 13.28.020 or 13.28.030. (Ord. 699 § 7.05, 1972)

13.28.060 Side sewer pipe on public right-of way or easements.

All side sewers installed within public right-of-way or easements and connecting to an asbestos cement sewer main shall conform with Section 13.28.020 and be Class 2400. (Ord. 699 § 7.06, 1972)

13.28.070 Installation of fittings.

Installation of fittings within side sewers shall conform to the following spacing, arrangements and size:

All changes in directions shall be made with one eighth bends (45 degrees), one-sixteenth bends (22-1 1/2 degrees) or wye branches with the straight through opening plugged for a cleanout. Not more than two bends shall be installed between cleanouts. Cleanouts, including those for commercial property, shall be installed at locations designated by the city but in no case will the distance between cleanouts exceed one hundred feet. Suit able frames and covers of a type designated by the city shall be used for all cleanouts on commercial property and shall be cast concrete block flush with the final paving. Cleanouts which shall extend to within twelve inches of the ground surface shall be plugged to prevent entrance of dirt, roots or ground water. (Ord. 699 § 7.07, 1972)
