TREASURER'S CLEARING FUND

3.24.010 Establishment.

There is created a fund, known and designated as the “treasurer's clearing fund,” into which shall be paid an amount of money equal to the various claims against the town for any purpose.  (Ord. 136-B §1, 1982)

3.24.020 Payment of claims authorized.

Whenever it is deemed necessary, the town clerk is authorized, empowered and directed to pay the claims against the various departments of the town.  (Ord. 136-B §2, 1982)

3.24.030 Purpose of expenditures.

The treasurer's clearing fund shall be used and payments therefrom shall be made only for the purpose of paying any claims against the town.  (Ord. 136-B §3, 1982)

3.24.040 Issuance of checks.

The town clerk is authorized, empowered and directed to issue checks on and against the fund in payment of materials furnished, services rendered and expense or liability incurred by the various departments and offices of the town.  The check shall be issued only after there has been filed proper claims with the town clerk.  All checks issued on or against the fund shall be solely and only for the purposes herein set forth and shall be payable only out of and from the fund.  (Ord. 136-B §4, 1982)
